As parents our vacations have changed, and now we're all searching for a trip that's great for us and the kids (maybe that includes hands free entertainment, so we can relax a bit). This Hudson Valley photographer took a vacation in the Adirondacks and found a special place that's a perfect fit for the whole family.
Grant Island, https://grantisland.com/, on Brantingham Lake was a stunningly beautiful spot, a whole island with a few unique options for stays depending on what you like. There are tons of activities, canoeing, jet skis, boating, kayaks, to name a few. A little sandy beach with a diving board and dogs are welcome! Also, it's an island so how far can wandering pups and kiddos go, haha!?
My kids were feral and naked almost the entire trip and we had a ton of privacy with only a few staying options on the island. We stayed in the big house, but there was also a yurt, and a little glass ceiling house. Also, these were the photos taken right before we finally chopped some of my son's hair off, so his pictures are special too, which is a reminder about recording memories, everyone!
This was a special Adirondacks vacation, and a photogenic one for a Hudson Valley photographer. For a day trip we went to Old Forge, https://oldforgeny.com/ and visited, the Candy Cottage, https://www.candycottage.net/ , the Enchanted Forest, https://www.watersafari.com/, and Walt's Diner, https://waltsdiner.com/.
Check out these websites and plan your next trip because we all know parents don't go a vacation anymore, we go on trips, haha.
